The north of England’s first ever winner of Designer Magazine’s prestigious Kitchen Design of the Year, Jonathan Paul, attributes much of his success to his unique passion for design and the meticulous way he approaches each and every project.
Jonathan first trained as an interior designer then as a kitchen designer. Today his role is that of an interior architect. This means his scope is no longer restricted to the kitchen; instead he takes a holistic view, where he considers the impact and function of all surrounding space. Working alongside a structural engineer he helps oversee the complete home design project from draft to detail drawings to structural change and facilities management.
Jonathan derives influence from all types of building design. Many of his most sensitive refurbishment projects are within period properties. But it’s the awe-inspiring revolution that is taking place in modern architectural design where he finds true inspiration. By incorporating radical new ideas, methods and materials into his living space designs he is able to achieve stunning, award winning results which, depending on his brief, either compliment or contrast with the fabric of the building.
